Room Upgrade Reports
We were greated by a younger male (late 20’s) and I had my $20 sandwiched between my drivers license and credit card. After he took the stack and set it by his keyboard I asked “Do you have any comp upgrades available?” to which he started typing and replied “let me see what I can find”.
We went from the regular room to the “City View” so it wasn’t a fabulous upgrade by any means but paying an extra $20 for 3 nights to get a better view seemed worth it to me.
Booked through Hotels.com. Probably a mistake.
Picked a pleasant lady, aged about 45. Checked in around 8 pm. Suites were showing available for the entire stay.
She put the fifty on the counter, then made a few calls. Said there was nothing she could do, handed the 50 back. I tried giving her ten bucks for the effort, she said that was ok, all she could do was give me a room slightly higher up.
We were going to stay for 4 nights with discounted price of $69 a night plus resort fee as a Mlife offer.
We went for Mlife Gold check in area and there wasn’t any lines. Since we were staying 4 nights, we decided to take chance with $100 for suite upgrade.
We gave ID, credit card, Mlife gold card and $100 sandwiched to a 30ish year old woman.
She promptly put the money on keyboard and said let me see what I can do.
Before check in, I checked online if the suites are available and all of them were still available.
After searching from a computer for a minute or 2, she said she can upgrade us to strip view. Which we didn’t get excited. We asked if she can do sky suite or corner suite.
She then went and checked with manager and said we can upgrade you with a $100 a night fee. Then we declined and asked for original room.
She said fine but kept 100, which I thought was not right.
I said I appreciate your help would like to change the initial money I gave you, and took out $20 from my wallet. She then became unhappy and returned the $100. Then I gave $20 but she refused and said she can’t take it.
Regular room was not bad too, but decided not to try with $100 again.
This upgrade has worked twice for me. First time was March 19 for my 50th. 2nd was Sept 19 for fun. Both times I had 4 comp nights for a regular room. My brother had to pay the regular rate for 4 nights.
We walked up with a $50 and held it within eye site and asked if they could combine our 2 reservations into one. Took a lot of discussion with the employees in suits and a lot of phone calls. Yes! 2 bedroom penthouse suite! Sweet!
My brother had to pay his regular room rate he was paying anyways which was $870. That’s it for 4 nights.
I didn’t target any particular clerk, as we arrived so late in the evening (we arrived somewhere between 9 and 10pm), and we had booked a 5-day stay.
I had my doubts that we would get upgraded, but the young lady who checked us in after a very brief wait in line was very courteous and asked us what room we typically stay in, to which I replied something to the effect of ‘we take what we can get’. We were offered the strip view upgrade without much fuss.
When there was a very minor issue with the room we were placed in, they offered to move us to another room but wouldn’t upgrade us further and only had one other strip view room for our long stay duration, and that was a handicap room. I suspect if we had booked strip view, we would have been moved into one of their tower suites due to the issue, but we settled on having them fix the problem and then were offered a complementary food + drink voucher for $50 instead.
We checked in early at about 12, there was already quite a queue. We where directed to a friendly lady at about mid twenty’s. We knew getting a complementary upgrade at the aria was not easy but tried it anyway. Put my ID cc and $20 on the counter. Started a friendly chat and asked if there where any complementary upgrades available. She said because it was busy there was non, but there was a paid upgrade possible from the deluxe king room we had to a Corner Suite withPanoramic View. Normally this upgrade would be a 175 a night extra, but she could offer it to us for 90 a night. We hesitated a bit and she asked us if she needed to try to get some more discount. Sure, we said and she went away to talk to a manager. After a few minutes she came back and said for a 70 extra a night we could have the room, but had to wait a little before the room was ready. This was ok by us. She took the 20 and directed us to a private lounge for suites and above with a separate check in, and complementary coffee, tea and some other drinks and light snacks. After about half an hour the suite was ready and it was really worth the extra bucks. What a nice room! A Panoramic view when you sit in your bubble bad at night drinking a beer and overlooking Las Vegas is priceless. Glad we did the extra investment.
Arrived on Friday at noon. Saw a young woman and I handed her $20 in a manner I always do (between id and cc). She immediately said “I don’t want to get fired, if you like my service you are free to tip”. She didn’t upgrade me. I asked if there are any complimentary tickets or other perks. She said NO.
I booked regular Deluxe King Room. As I was staying with my brother, I asked at the reception if it would be possible to get Queen instead of King. Clerk started calling somewhere, took him like 5 minutes. In between he asked if we were staying just one night. We confirmed that. From there it was little confusing, as he said that he was able to get us one of Sky Suites. We went to seperate elevators where in a part where the Sky Suites are located, our room was on floor 54. Even though on the key cards, door of the room and accessories in the room (such as toileteries, note pads, pens etc.) it said Sky Suites, the room was just a little bit bigger than regular Deluxe Room, but was decorated as Sky Suite. Also had a nice strip view. I was trying to find the room online but they aren’T offering it there. Itools pro 1 6 9 download free. Don’t really know what exactly we got upgraded to, but most certainly it wasn’t regular Deluxe Queen.
I came to the Aria for the last weekend of July 2018. Overall I am a pretty straight up guy. I was in the line and was greeted by a young man who was in his mid 20’s. I gave him my passport and credit card, however at the same time I put a $100.00 bill on the counter and advised him up front that if he can give me a comp upgrade to a corner suite this will be for him. His eyes lit up and he said let me see what I can do for you. He check with his manager and came back to me 5 mins later and told me that my corner suite was ready but I would have to pay 100 bucks per night. I told him that I was not looking for that. He advised me that he can only give me the standard size room but he can give me a 50th floor with a view that was the opposite end of the stripe, plus another $75.00 resort credit. I told him straight up that I would still take care of him but not for $100.00. In the end I took his offer and tipped him $30.00 instead.
I checked in around 11:30a at the priority desk because I had platinum status. He asked me if I was interested in an upgraded. I said yes and asked if their was any suites available, while I presented him with my ID, cc & & $50 sandwich in between.
Note I did my homework. I checked online the night before to see what was still available. Every level of rooms were still available.
So the desk clerk played around with his key board for a few minutes after he said I need to check with a manager. After a few minutes he offered the same room type higher floor with a view.
Double Room Deluxe Aria 3401
I politely declined and my $50 was returned. So I was given the worst possible room. The six floor with a view of the casino’s A/C system. So I believe the original offer of an upgrade was a sales pitch. Or he would as upset I accepted my $50 back. Never the less, I. got what I paid for cheap room, cheap price
Aria Deluxe King Room
2nd note I used Priceline express deal for the room, maybe that factor in my less than acceptable “upgrade”. Although I’ve also use Priceline and gotten great upgrades. Play slot machines online for fun free.
